After a long holiday weekend, I’m still in a food coma and ready for a break this week from the rich stuff. (Before I get into proper cookie baking, of course.) ‘Tis the season for breaking up the programming a bit across all channels, so the next few weeks should be an interesting mix. Here’s the best of what’s on tonight:
Superstore – 10/9c & 10:30/9:30c NBC – Pilot preview tonight with two back-to-back episodes of the comedy coming to NBC in January. I always enjoy America Ferrerra & Ben Feldman, so I’m hoping this will be a hit for them!
The Great Holiday Baking Show – 10/9c ABC – This is exactly what it seems, and I know at least one friend who will be immersed in this 4-episode run.
It’s Your 50th Christmas, Charlie Brown (8/7c) followed by A Charlie Brown Christmas (9/8c) ABC
Debbie Macomber’s Mrs. Miracle – 8/7c Hallmark (2009) – James Van Der Beek alert!
12 Gifts of Christmas – 10/9c Hallmark (2015) – Katrina Law (Nyssa from Arrow) plays a painter-turned-personal shopper who has a knack for picking out the perfect gifts. Plus Hallmark Channel staples: a cute boy & ice skating.
Disney’s A Christmas Carol – 7/6c ABC Family (2009) – Animated version with Jim Carrey, Gary Oldman, and Colin Firth.
The Polar Express – 9/8c ABC Family (2004) – I just saw this one last year for the first time and thought it was a sweet story. It makes me crave hot chocolate.
Home Alone – 8/7c & again at 10:30/9:30c AMC (1990) – A classic. I usually watch this one closer to Christmas, but it’s never too early to get into the spirit…or at least save it on the DVR.
