If you’re like me, this is going to be another weekend of binging on holiday TV movies. The tree is decorated, I’m well stocked on hot chocolate and cider, and my favorite cozy sweatshirt is clean & ready to be used all weekend. I’ll tell myself I’ll take a walk at some point…but that “walk” will be from the couch to the kitchen and back. Several laps, in fact.
The big box office draw this weekend is In the Heart of the Sea, the Ron Howard film about Moby Dick. It has a great cast and if historical dramas are your thing, I’m sure it won’t disappoint.
I, however, am sticking to this ridiculously long list of weekend TV happenings:
Transparent – Amazon – Season 2 is available to stream now.
A Dogwalker’s Christmas Tale – UP 7/6 pm – As a former dogwalker and dog-lover in general, I’m all over this!
Becoming Santa – Lifetime 8/7c – I’m a Laura Bell Bundy fan, plus this has everyone’s favorite sitcom parents as Santa & Mrs. Clause: Meredith Baxter & Michael Gross of Family Ties.
On the Twelfth Day of Christmas – 8/7c – Childhood crushes, all grown-up. (Fun fact: If you’re a Dawson’s Creek fan, you’ll recognize the lead as Joey’s older, college boyfriend.)
I’m Not Ready for Christmas – Hallmark Sunday 10 am/9 am c – Yes, this plot is basically Liar Liar, and the title and theme song have absolutely nothing to do with the plot, but Alicia Witt is cute and you have to watch at least one Hallmark movie with her each year. As a friend says, she’s kind of the Queen of Hallmark. (P.S. Keep an eye out for the horrible photoshop job on a photo album.)
Angel of Christmas – Hallmark Sunday 12 pm/11 am c
Ice Sculpture Christmas – Hallmark Sunday 4pm/3pm c
Family for Christmas – Hallmark Sunday 8/7c – Something tells me this is basically The Family Man, but again, it’s a requirement to watch at least one Lacey Chabert Hallmark movie. Traditions, people!
Christmas Trade – UP 9/8c – Denise Richards & William Baldwin. If that doesn’t entice you, it’s some Freaky Friday action with father & son switching bodies.
A Christmas Reunion – ION Sunday 9/8c – If that isn’t enough Denise Richards for you, here’s more!
Vince Vaughn crush?
Fred Claus – ABC Family 11:15/10:15c
Four Christmases – TBS Sunday 5/4c
Record now, save for later:
New Year’s Eve – TBS Sunday 8/7c & 10:30/9:30c
Have a great weekend!
